Lately, I’ve been finding peace in the “Glimmers”—the scent of fresh herbal tea or the comforting weight of a warm blanket on my lap.
These tiny moments are more than just pleasant; they are anchors that tell our nervous systems, “It’s okay to exhale now.”
A Thought to Carry
“The only way out is through.” — Robert Frost
I love this because it reminds us that we don’t have to fix our feelings. We just have to be brave enough to stay with them until they move on their own.
The 90-Second Wave
When I first learned about the “90-second rule,” it changed how I related to my own big emotions.
Neuroscience shows that the chemical surge of an emotion—like the heat of anger or the tightness of fear—actually only lasts about 90 seconds.
If we can stay present without “hooking” into a stressful story, our bodies naturally flush those chemicals out. We are designed to move through the storm, not live in it.
Walking This Path Together
I’ve been working hard to create more space for us to connect:

Practice: The 90-Second Breathe-Through
Next time a wave of emotion hits, try this:
-
Find the Sensation: Notice where you feel it. Is it a vibration in your chest or a coolness in your breath?
-
Soft Hands: Open your palms and let your fingers relax.
-
Listen: Focus on the sound of your own steady inhale.
-
Wait: Give yourself 90 seconds to just be with the feeling, watching it crest and fade.
You are the steady ground; the emotion is just the weather.
With warmth,
Coach Kaila
