Have you ever walked into a room and felt your shoulders instantly drop an inch?
That feeling of immediate relief is what I want you to experience every time you step into this new digital space.
The Anchor of Presence
“The art of being happy lies in the power of extracting happiness from common objects.” — Henry Ward Beecher
I chose this quote because true contentment isn’t found in a far-off destination. It is found in how we settle into our current environment and the “common objects” of our daily lives.
The Art of Arrival
In our fast-paced world, we are often physically present but mentally miles away. “Arriving” is a somatic practice of bringing your awareness back into your body.
When we arrive, we move from the frantic energy of “seeking” the next thing to the calm state of “savoring” what is already here. This shift signals to your nervous system that you are safe and supported.
A Simple Tool to Arrive Now
You don’t need to do anything complicated to settle into this space with me. Try this brief somatic centering exercise:
-
Feel the Weight: Notice the pressure of your body against your seat.
-
Find Your Feet: Wiggle your toes inside your shoes or against the floor.
-
Listen: Identify one sound in your room, like the hum of a fan or the rhythm of your own breath.
-
Exhale: Take one slow breath in through your nose and let out a long, audible sigh.
You have arrived. I am so glad you are here.
Warmly,
Coach Kaila
